The HIDDEN LAKE TRAIL is reached after a steep 1 1/2 mile hike from the Logan Pass Visitor Center.  Over the years, I have had some FUN on the way to the Hidden Lake Overlook.  One instance involved sandals on the VERY snowy slopes.   I had gone too far to return to the car for sane shoes.  The next year I had the right shoes, I just forgot to bring enough film for the camera.  It wasn't until 4 years after the original attempt that I had the correct combination of shoes and film.   The view is worth the effort.

Frequently, you can see mountain goats on the trail to the overlook.  Sometimes they sit on the snow fields that cover the trail; other times they are jumping into the trees in an attempt to hide from humans - remember, they may look tame, but ALL animals in the park are wild.   Give them a wide berth.

The trail is generally only taken to the Hidden Lake Overlook.  Some hearty folks hike the steep DOWN trail to the lake, itself.  Unfortunately, the bears are very hearty and don't mind the hike at all, and apparently, there are some fine fish in the lake because the bears are almost always there.  This lower part of the trail is often closed due to bear frequenting.   Actually, the trail to the overlook is great grizzly habitat, too.  Because of the numbers of people who hike the trail, the bears usually stay away.  Not always, though.  BE CAREFUL.
