Best STONE SKIPPING in the world!

anigifskip.gif (55087 bytes)

The lakes in Glacier National Park are known for their outstanding beauty, but if you ask my son, he'll probably say the best thing about them is that they're great for skipping stones.  While he's tried Iceberg Lake and Swiftcurrent Lake, his absolute favorite is Lake McDonald.  Over the years, my job has been to find the best skippers, then stand back, amazed, and count...1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9 skips.  Sometimes I get past 10 before the stone becomes a blur on the water.

Parents note: I used an afternoon of stone skipping as a reward for good behavior on the previous day's hike.   You might try this if your kids don't like the beauty of the park.
