The GRINNELL GLACIER OVERLOOK TRAIL is less than a mile long, but it gains about 1000 feet.   After hiking 6 1/2 miles from Logan Pass, it's hard to get too enthusiastic about taking this steep hike.  The good news is the view is fantastic at the top.   You stand right on the Continental Divide, looking down on Grinnell Glacier and the Many Glacier area of the park.  Turn around and, before you, stretches the Lake McDonald valley.

Don't worry about being hot when you get to the top.  There ALWAYS seems to be a brisk wind up there.   The downside is the steepness and rockiness of the trail, and in places, the trail is only about a foot wide.

Be careful, bring water and JUST DO IT!!!
